Questions
What does the electorate widget do?
It lets your visitors type a postcode or suburb and see the federal electorate, state electorate and local council area it falls in, with the federal member's name, using Political Gadgets data.
Is it free to embed?
Yes. Paste the code into any page that allows iframes. Please keep the text link beneath it, which credits Political Gadgets and points readers to the full finder.
Does it cost my visitors anything or track them?
No. The widget sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts and does not ask for an address or location.
Can I match my site's colours?
Choose a light, dark or automatic theme on this page. Advanced users can also add an accent colour to the address, for example ?theme=dark&accent=1a7f37.
How accurate is it?
Postcode and suburb results come from 2,641 postcodes and 15,329 suburbs matched against federal, state and council boundaries. A postcode or suburb can span several electorates, so the widget shows each with its approximate share. For an exact address, the full finder is linked from the widget.
