This Gadget shows recent mentions for politicians in the news and when they spoke in Parliament. It was created to help the dedicated people who are following, and publicising, what their local politician is actually saying and doing.
The information from Hansard comes via the excellent API provided by Open Australia / They Vote For You. Our sincere thanks to the wonderful people who do this cool work.
The Guardian articles are distinct because they have an API which allows for this, and a model which means anyone using this gadget can be sure they can read the article at the end of the link. Finally the Guardian articles generally are limited to Australian news so there are fewer false positives.
The Other Articles section comes from a wider range of sources and some of those articles will lead to paywalls - that's why they are seperated. Also as the search is on the name, politicians with more common names can create false positives. The headline uisaully gives away if we've hit a footballer or someone in the USA.
The articles headlines and info remain copyright to their owners - we're just pointing users in the right direction. If you'd like your info removed - or added - just reach out and trell us.
