This gadget shows the donations RECEIPTS disclosed to the AEC. Now you might think this data would be the same as Donations Made - for various reasons it isn't. Receipts includes payments that aren't striclty donations. Also what a company or individual claims asa donation isn;t always the same as what a receiveing organisation deems a receipt. The process is a mess and could be so much better. In the meantime this is what we have to work with.

We have made some effort to tidy up the obvious errors in names etc. There is little incentive for the organisations involved in making or receiving donations to be consistent or accurate in their use of names. In a better world everyone would have to use an ABN or a donor number to make sure this all matches up.

Aggregation of donations is done using some clever matching behind the scenes. There is the possibility of something slipping through the cracks one way or another and if you find there's an error please let us know and we'll fix it immediately.
